Hi Ralph, I have been on the hunt for a panzer shooting lanyard recently. On doing my research I noticed that most of the badges have a ring around outer edge of the badge that looks like the best I can describe as x's. Then there are badges that have oak leaves around the outer edge. Wondering what your thoughts are on this variation. Is one an early version ? I must say you have a great collection of these badges.

Hello John,
Thank you!
I can only suggest that you have a look at this thread,
My small collection of Schützenschnur
there is some pertinent information posted from Wim Saris's book that might explain the differences in the wreaths.
Here is a lone badge from my collection.
Ralph.

Thank you Ralph for the picture and information. These seem to be rarer then the braided ones. Very nice example
To Ralph and all members on this board..... Happy New Year !
Ralph if you ever decide to thin your Panzer Lanyard a bit, please let me know.
John
