Re: OFFICIAL RITTERKREUZ Thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Show em if you have em!!!!!
I read a thread on another forum and the discussion was how people like to keep these awards private and many don't display them.... Maybe I'm wrong??

Re: OFFICIAL RITTERKREUZ Thread!!!!!!!!!!!! Show em if you have em!!!!!
Maybe that is true i have a micro 800 S and L attributed to a Waffen SS Officer but i choose not to advertise it and yes it's 100% percent correct and authenticated and is accompanied by many of his documents , some like to advertise that they have such awards and others don't like to publicise the fact , that's the way it it i guess !!

I respect your privacy ... but I'm trying to understand.. this forum is somewhat private, as in people don't know where you live etc... but isn't the concept of this forum to collect.. learn and show your items with others that have the same interests? and if everyone chose not to show items they have collected this would be one boring website. I'm just curious about the negatives of showing.

The highlighted point above is of course very true but no-one here is obligated to post their items or discuss them if they choose not to. Many of us have items we haven't posted yet, in fact rumour has it that a whole wing of Stevenson Towers has unseen treasures yet to be discovered.
Anyway, I digress. Not everyone chooses to show what high end items are in their possession for their own reasons. The forum is not as private as you think, anyone in the world with internet access can see it and therefore see what items you own. In these days of technical wizardry (most of which I don't understand) it doesn't take much to find out where a person lives and many more things about them.
Please respect those who's choice is not to post all of their items.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Well said Adrian!
When you look at the bottom of the main page and see that there are 10 guests for every 1 member that is viewing threads, there is good reason not to show everything that you own.

Not saying that Nick, just something to consider. This site is not as closed as lowboy thinks it is.
