The large cross is the 1st Class Cross of the Federal Republic of Germany's Bundesverdienstorden. See: Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The miniature is Imperial-era. It looks a lot like the Prussian Militärverdienstkreuz to me, but in that case the ribbon would be wrong. This is not my area of expertise, though. Surely some other member will know more about it.
In any case, both are definitely not from the Third Reich period.
I think the smaller button hole medal is the Prussian 'Cross Of The General Honour',
or something similar. I've seen it many times before, but can't remember it's title....!
