Reichsnährstand Medal - Good or Bad?

I recently bought the Reichsnährstand medal below. Having had trouble free purchases so far, I have perhaps let my guard down. My area of collecting - Reichsnährstand (Reich Food Estate) and associated things - is pretty obscure and doesn't seem to attract the fakers quite so much. In terms of patina and general appearance, the medal in question also looked very much like another item which I had just bought from a reliable dealer and which I am happy is OK. However, I'm tending think that this is a cast fake, in particular the edge seems to show marks suggesting a mould and the little ring which is normally soldered on seems to be rather crude and part of the whole thing.

I'd be very grateful for some other opinions, as to whether it could possibly be original, before I ask the vendor for a refund.
