Hi guys.
It looks like a nice SA sport badge, but just to make sure. Is it good? I try not to collect copies
If other pic needed, let me know!

Hello Marks. At first I thought the badge was OK. It gives off the impression of being the type 3 version of the badge. (last one made) .but when I look at it from the rear - there are a couple little things that make me wonder about it being original.
First off are the Saar=Lautern markings....they are all on the same line and kind of crammed in there.
Secondly is the pin catch. It doesn't look "twisted" enough. Hard to explain but have a look at my late war silver version. You'll see what I mean by the pin hook.
I could be wrong - but I wonder if the same maker would have changed the way they make the badge?
I'd like more opinions on this too please....
Cheers!
Rob
Here are the pics.....
Hi I searched the web and found similar badge in Axis History forum.

Hi Marks...Yes, that is the same one. I also noticed the pin hinge is not as it should be as well. I think it would be best to stay away from that example.
Cheers!

learning every day Although its front side looks very nice.

Yes, the front did get me at first. One thing I noticed on the front is the "corner" where the swastika and the wreath meet. On my example - it's much crisper. On the repro - you can see that the angle is not as sharp as it should be.
Another giveaway. Glad to be of some help!
Here's how I have my badges displayed. Took me a while to find one of each (Gold is Type 1, Silver is type 3 and bronze is type 3 with serial number).
Cheers!

Thanks Rob

Hi Marks
I'am a bit sceptic considering the originality of this badge, I haven't seen one like it. On the otherhand I don't collect political awards...

Rob, not to change the subject but is the piping on the top armband grey?
rgds, Ty
Hello Ty....Yes, it's an SA-Reserve armband. I can start a seperate thread with closer shots.
Cheers!
