Hello
What are your thoughts on this badge.
There is no hinge, catch or maker mark.
I found it with bunch of misc stuff at a flea market
I am pretty sure its junk after I compared it to others
thank you
Tony
Unfinished?.....Before the gold wash to the wreath?
Just a thought.....

Looks like an unmarked, unfinished R.S badge.
Hard to say though whether it is a wartime or postwar piece ?
With the hardware and finish applied we usualy have a good idea as to the possible period of manufacture ?
Regards,Martin.
never finished.
Hi, interesting to see an unfinished example such as this, I would guess it has limited appeal, but it is certainly unusual, nice pick up. Leon.
Looks like leftover parts Souval made up after the war to sell badges to naive collectors...

"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
But it's strange that the R.S. mark is missing. There is no wartime version without the R.S. mark so it's either post-war or a leftover wartime planchet with the "R.S." ground off (quite likely).
Best regards,

You may be correct Norm, but i see no evidence of the maker mark being "ground off" ??
Cheers,Martin.
