Default Schwerin uboot variation 1 or 2

Very happy to say, I won this badge last weekend from a well known auction. I was determined to win it, was prepared to bid high, but at the end, it sold for about 50% less than I predicted I would have to pay for it. Many great deals this auction offered, this being one of them IMO.
Since selling my other Schwerin to a member here recently, needed the empty space in my navy badge box filled. This one is a slight upgrade, plus it is maker marked which I always preferred. Had a couple of experienced members vet it for me, plus it matches the "Type" in my reference books.
One can never be too sure of himself these days.

    Thanks for looking

You did well David. And I would say it is more than a "slight" upgrade. Just a few more pieces to go to complete the collection and maybe a Narvik as well...LoL

    Hello Martin,
I had a look through this thread on GCA and could not find a match to the one posted here.

The eagle's head, the maker mark and a few other details seem to be different than any posted there.

    Hi Ralph.
Seems I can't win with badges lately !
Thanks for your concern...will have this checked out (again). I did not see any problems, but I don't know a lot about these.

Looks O.K. to me, I see no obvious problems. As stated in the thread title, a type 1 U-boat.

    Regards, Ned.

I've looked again and i still think it's an original Schwerin.

Possibly a type 2 shown in the link above ?

If it turns out to be a fake then it fooled me.

    Cheers,Martin.

Having just looked at that, I agree probably a type 2 as there is a slight variance from type 1.

    Hello David,
Sorry, not meaning to rain on your parade as I don't know much about these at all but, when I look at a reference posted by Norm and can't find similar, I just had to ask.
