Re: Some ribbon bars
Very nice indeed I have recently become interested in TR ribbon bars and I am awaiting my first ribbon bar for the Iron Cross, 2nd Class and Heer Long Service Award on a metal device.
Will post as soon as I get it
Great collection !
Nick

Re: Some ribbon bars
Great selection of ribbonbars!
Thank you for posting, I like the way the ribbons are folded on the bar third down on the left with the pleats.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Adrian, distinctivly Bavarian, pillow folded, and padded ! see full size medal bar for the same effect, note how the EK II is demoted in favour of the local award.
Prost ! Steve.
Pillow folded! Thank you Steve, I knew there was a proper name for the style, just couldn't think of it at the time.
A nice medalbar too, is the order of medals against regulations?

Re: Some ribbon bars
Adrian, re regulations, in a nutshell, during the reign of Wilhelm II, he was the King of Prussia (which he never relinquished!), and Emporer of a united Germany, however, most States, Principalities and Duchies retained some individuality and control over their own affairs, especially the bigger ones such as Bavaria (fiercely independant), Saxony etc, and they were allowed to rank their own awards over Prussian medals (at this time the EK was considered a Prussian award).
Prost ! Steve.
