    Default SS-Dienstauszeichnung 4.Stufe (4 Jahre) / SS Four Year Service medal

    Instituted on Jan. 30th 1938 and awarded for 4 years service in the SS-VT, (later known as the Waffen SS) SS-TV or the SS Junkerschulen. Only awarded to NCO's and Other ranks.

    It is believed that bestowals of the medal ceased in 1941.

    These medals were only made by two manufacturers. My example is made by Deschler & Sohn. The other maker is believed to be Petz & Lorenz.

    There are no figures available to know how many of these long service medals were issued.
