Strange little Luftwaffe Metal Eagle

I found this guy bouncing around in a box of stuff I bought some time ago.

I was thinking it might be part of a collar tab, shoulder board, or shooting lanyard... but I'm not coming up with anything. It's 23mm in diameter.

Thoughts?

Looks like the metal emblem found on the Luftwaffe Honour Roll clasp or Ehrenblatt Spange des Luftwaffe.

Yeah... These things tend to happen to the pieces I don't know off the top of my head. I always seem to revisit them later tho.

Shame about the broken pins, there is some value in it although I'm not sure what to guesstimate.

It could be paired with an EK2 ribbon and sold as as a display piece but obviously not at the price an original and undamaged set would be valued at. Originals sets are generally priced at four figures.

Looks a nicely struck piece and the detail is nice & crisp - remember how small it is? - ( hate to have been the poor soul soldering on the pins though )

Lol - It is not well struck at all IMO, lacking in detail and quite
rough around the edges. I've seen better work on
even smaller TR items.........!

never seen one of these before but the details in this badge are not impressing imo !! But still great find to have "floating around in the bottom of a box " !!!
