Looks as like it has been heavily polished or dipped in CLR, with it's 'raw'
bronze colouring. I agree with Adrian though - there are still
plenty available.........

Medal was bought from a German bargain-fair ... it cost about 20 euros.
I purchased one of these as well. The medal does look very "new" to me. It came in the same envelope, which I have a very hard time believing is almost 80 years old. Mine did not come with a ribbon.
I have purchased a number of items from this same retailer and this is the only one that I feel is somewhat suspect.
If there was in fact a stash of these found that were un-used I can see the near perfect condition. But how do you even begin to verify that?
