Coming to the realization that the marker mark was cut out. Don't know how I feel about that.

It was likely the controversial 'Carl Poelath, Schrobenhausen' type.

These are rumored to be fake ribbon and packet with a good
original medal. A few years ago a dealer at a show here
was selling these sets for $10 each, which was
a smoking deal.........

Would you happen to know if the ribbon from that fake set glows under black light? I imagine it would if it were fake. Now I'm a little concerned about this set.

It probably would, but don't worry about it unless you paid a lot for the set.
( I think I have a couple of medal envelopes with the maker's
name cut out.........! )

It was $45 USD for the set.

That wasn't too bad. I've seen these sets as high as $65.
I picked up the same medal last weekend for $20 with
no envelope or ribbon.........
