Can you post a shot of the bottom of the badge please? I'm not convinced by it and I've never seen an Orth U-Boot badge with a top hook. Has any anyone else?

I agree with you Adrian regarding the top hook on this badge, I've never seen that on an Orth U-Boat Kreigsabzeichen before. The hinge and catch are too close to call for me, and, as you say, the kicker is probably in the way the striations in the crossed ribbon at the bottom of the badge are defined and orientated. So yes, good close photo's of that are essential I think.

I'm still not convinced by it. The top hook is wrong and the catch for the pin looks too big and made from wire which is too thin. I also believe the makers mark is in the wrong place compared to some other's I've seen. I would still like to see a clear shot of the bottom of the badge. Has the seller provided this shot? If not I suspect he/she knows the badge is wrong.

I've never heard of this dealer/collector but looking at the frame in the top right, it seems to be the guy who puts together frames full of fake awards as won by a particular person and sold on ebay. If this is the case I personally would keep well away.
