    Hi gentlemen,

I would like to purchase my first and probably only u-boot kriegsabzeichen, that's why I'm looking for one in very good condition. I have seen this one on sale, I would say it is a good unmarked Schwerin but I'm never sure, can you confirm it is a good one?

    best regards,

    Pierre

Pictures are pretty small but I think you are correct in your identification Pierre.

There is a classification produced by Norm on these badges so no doubt Norm or Martin will be able to give you the exact number it is now known as

I see no "red flags" on this. An unmarked Schwerin. Sometimes seen with the block hinge upside down.
    Nice example

Looks like a good tombak Schwerin.

I think this fits Norm's description as a Schwerin type 3b (transitional) award with the "thick neck, domed head hinge pin, flat wire catch and unmarked".

    Cheers,Martin.

I agree, a good unmarked Schwerin. Martin named the type from an earlier version of the classification, but with a correct description. Now it's Type 3.1 in the Schwerin timeline which is assigned U-boat Classification Number (UC#) 1.1.5 in the Comprehensive U-Boat Classification System (attached).

    Hi all,

I received it two days ago, I was like a kid at Christmas ;-). I compared the finish remaining with some other badges that were told to be in "good condition" and I like this one even more. I paid quite a lot for this U-Boot kriegsabzeichen but I think it's worth to have one nearly mint for once.

Thank you again for your help guys,
    regards,
    Pierre
