My raised eyebrow doesn't come over very well on an internet forum but I recommend you do a search for this site on this forum and read what the general consensus is on this dealer.

The Orth U-bootskriegsabzeichen is a fake.


Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny do exist. They live together in a ménage à trois on Spandau Militaria's website along with all the other fantasy pieces............

I'm beginning to get a little fed up Adrian. I thank you so much for your comments.

I've deleted SM from my favourites.

Trying to buy one of these badges isn't easy. Ignoring SP I now find a UK dealer with two FO badges "guaranteed original" yet both FO logos differ .

I find a american dealer with a Mayer made badge that offers a lifelong money back guarantee for authenticity which is a better bet than just 7 days.

I could be posting images on here for ever.

Don't get disheartened.

There are plenty of reputable places to buy original militaria from. There are the forum sponsors here, the classifieds section to be going on with.

You've done the right thing by joining the forum and have asked the question before spending your money. If you want a list of reputable dealers to look at just let me know and I will PM you a list.

Until you find your feet and know what to look for, just keep posting. Every badge or medal you post is a learning tool for everyone be it good or bad. Post each different piece in it's own thread which makes it easier to find when using the search button.

I've never heard of Parade Antiques either but looking through their inventory I can see some dodgy pieces. The Pilot/Observer badge in silver and the Pilot/Observer badge with diamonds to name just two. One of the FO U-Bootskriegsabzeichen is good, the other is a fake.

Correct, the genuine piece is the one with very little finish left.

The Mayer badge above I'm fairly sure is a fake going by the photo. That catch for me is a giveaway of a post war piece.
