Well guys, I found another one! A double ribbon bar. On the left is obviously the War Merit 2nd Class, but what is on the right? It looks as though the ribbon has been cut off! But even so, what could it be? Thanks! Don Liller

Could it possibly be a North African Campaign ribbon who's green has totally faded away? I've seen them with the green faded into a pale yellow, but perhaps in this case, it's entirely gone altogether? That's about the only ribbon that I can think of with this odd color configuration, although the black looks wider than the red....it may be likely that this is, as you guessed, a cut-off Frankenstein that someone just made up too...

I think it is a faded African Campaign ribbon as well........

The African campaign makes sense - it is the only one in this configuration with a black stripe on the end. There is a somewhat similar WWI era ribbon but it has black stripes on both sides. I have older ribbons with color bleached out - not unusual. NH
