The medal is fine. I cannot comment on the document as I have never seen this particular pattern before.
Cheers, Ade.
PS: Welcome to the forum!
Hi, welcome !
I agree the medal is good and you are right with the maker
Nick
"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
As Ade has said the medal is fine , the doc i've never seen one loke this before, IR 487 was part of the 267 Infanterie Divison whose nickname was the Pferdekopfe ( Horses head ) Divison , the Div insignia and tac sign was the same as that which is on your document.
regards
Paul

Only problem is the stamp appears to be from Grenadier Regt 517 which was part of 295 ID ( destroyed in Stalingrad ).

Hi
Welcome to the forum This medal is my favourite german medal,
because of the design, the soldier had to fight hard to win this one.
dave.
Paul E, I found two internet source about „pferdekopf” division, according to first we talk about 267. Infanterie-Division, according to second about 295. Infanterie-Division(grenadier regiment 517 is a part of this division), I don’t know which options is correct. There is other problem, 517 Grenadier-Regiment was formed in 15 october 1942, stamps at my document are indicates 16 Juli, could you explain this divergence ? maybe it’s a fake document ? thanks for help !
ps. I'm really glad I've found this website

I can't explain this at the moment i'll have to do more research , unfortunatley this may point to a fake document but we'll see if we can tie it all together !!

I also try to explain this problem, if you find anything please give me answer. cheers !
Interesting problem...
I checked into it and came to the following theoretical solution:
8./IR487 was part of II./487 wich was disbanded on 5.5.42. Remaining personel was transfered back to Inf.Ers.Btl. 487 at Quedlinburg (or at least on paper?).
Inf.Ers.Btl. 487 was also replacement unit for (make a guess...) Gren.Rgt. 517.
