Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen , Re-Paint?. Thank you.

Hello Gentlemen , i am looking to purchase this Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen (Kriegsmarine destroyer war badge). Please could i ask your opinions if it is a good one - i have a feeling it is. I wondered if it might of had a re-gild at all?. What do you guys think?. Maker s.h.u.c.o. Small white paint mark to the rear of badge right hand side of makers mark? , no idea if that is of any significance at all?. Many Thanks as always Gentlemen.

Hi Jim,

I think it is original as well, although picture of the obverse is quite blurry. You should wait for Martin and Norm, they will tell you is it good or not. Also try to get one clear picture of the obverse.

I think it's a good original badge by SHuCo.

But from the image provided it's hard for me to tell if the obverse wreath has been refinished ?

Afternoon Gentlemen.

Received this rather nice badge today also - the Kriegsmarine Destroyer badge maker marked for s.h.u.c.o , this was the one i was unsure of having a paint touch up at some point as there is what looks like a bit of silver paint on the reverse near the makers mark on the right hand side?. Either way , a very nice addition to the collection.

It looks much better now than it was looking on the seller photos. It has very well preserved gilt finish. Lovely example.

A very nice Sohni. Heubach & Co badge. Are you sure that isn't the grey finish to the back that has chipped off? and not a re-paint.....

Looking more closely at it you could well be spot on John , i'm just so wary of any unusual marks etc. My fear of falling for another reproduction or the possible altering/re-touching on the appearance of an original badge is always at the back of my mind. Thank you John for your input , very much appreciated.
