Default Found at antique store, WWI British mini medal?

I saw this at the antique store today and the tag said "unknown history, $40". The guy helping me was former British military and he didnt recognize it. It looks like a British crown on a WWI ribbon. Its a small medal, and it has no markings anywhere on it that I could find. I've searched the forum and searched on google with no luck so far. Sorry for the poor pictures, I had to take them with my cell phone.

Anybody familiar with this one? I appreciate the help.

The ribbon looks to be that of the Victory medal, although this medal was issued by all the allied countries in their various forms. The crown appears to be British, but a Queens Crown rather than a Kings, the top of the crown dips in. If it was period i would expect it to be a Kings Crown, George Vth. The next eligible time for a Queens Crown would be 1952 onwards. Its unlikely to be French as they cut the heads of their Royalty in 17 something and apart from a small blip have managed quite well without them.
