Could you please give me some information about these badges!

Article about: I won't throw out a price, but I will say that the linked website is often overpriced on the order of 1.5-2.0 times and yours is not in as good of shape as that one. I have seen two on ebay

Default Could you please give me some information about these badges!

Hello, I received a package in the post today including medals and badges from different countries. Could you please tell me how old they are and what they are please. I know two are soviet related and I was thinking the other was polish but I am not sure.
    Thanks, Glen.

Russian, sure you knew that. Looks to me a Koren war era paratrooper badge. I am totally guessing.

It's the Dutch Military Physical Proficiency Badge, the Brevet voor Militair Lichamelijke Vaardigheid, or "MLV" badge for short. (The blue symbol is a stylized combination of the letters M, L and V.)
The requirements for the grade seen here with the blue-enamelled cypher include a swimming test, while a fully bronze-colored badge of otherwise identical design is without the swimming.

What do you mean by the ribbons?

Ribbons = the red bits on the wreath on the middle badge. Each ribbon represented a republic in the Soviet Union. As countries joined or left, the number of ribbons on the wreath would change accordingly, making it possible to get a rough estimate of the age or era of the piece.
