Thanks William. I was pleased with myself to be able to read "Sapper" in Russian. Interesting they use the same word as we do for Engineer in the British Army.

Just to confim mine is a type 9. There were nine slight variants of this badge. The screwplate is correct for the badge's maker, "Victory".
