The one layer brass one is straight after the war version was in use up to 60s. One layer aluminium is 60s and up.
Most of the time it doesn't matter really , cos recipient were changing it all the time. For the parades, to fit the uniform etc.
Most of the time the would get a multiple suspension, then receive another jubilee medal and get another multiple suspension to fit all of them.

I think we are talking at cross purposes here: I am talking about the suspension loops or rings, not the suspension mounts.
