Help identifying medal / award

I was recently at a gun and antique show and came across this. I have no idea if its a medal or an award or sorts. Ive done quite a bit of searching but havnt found anything like it. So i was hopeing some of you could help me out.

thanks for the info. Amazing what you find. I got it for a buck. Im curious as to how it made its way to california and wound up in a box of old military patches and radom pins.
