I don't like the number stamping, the ring atop the medal itself, or the reverse of the suspension. I strongly suspect a previously unnumbered piece with number stamps "value-added" at some point. The characteristics of the medal itself do not appear to match other examples in that serial number range. If it were offered to me, I would pass, but that's just me. See some examples of what I am taking about below. . .

Yes, I agree with You. Seems to me a "U" shaped suspension ring is the more spected at this serial sequence.

Except the strange stamping that Bill said i think that also the front side looks not so detailed to me. Look carefully the letters... and compare with close pics of similar medals.
Maybe you have to try to find a way to check is its made of silver.
