    Hello everyone
I have recently acquired a group of five soviet campaign medals at a very good price. Knowing that these medals (at least some of them) are sometimes not cheap, I wanted to ask your opinion on them. To me they look good but I am not a specialist so any info will help.
    Thank you
    Best regards

I have all of these medals, but I'm unsure about some of these. Each of them has some modification....ribbons, pads, etc I think.

Each of them has a worry for me, but I am not declaring them fake, the 'most expensive' ones have the most worries for me. Maybe we can bump this thread for more thoughts.

I've also been looking at these now for several times and still couldn't make up my mind. These are not easy to tell originals but also can't really say these are no-brainer fakes. This is what is confusing me:
Berlin: the star is so out of shape. I know the later variants have these out of shape stars on the front, but this is a variation 1, which should have a more 'equal' star. Apart from that I think it's good.
Leningrad: it looks good but I am puzzled by the edge. Does it get narrow or is it a straight angled edge? Otherwise it looks good, and so are the Budapest and Vienna medals. Not sure on the Prague medal, that one leaves doubts with me. Not sure why though.

Well we all seem to have different concerns! (does that make it better or worse?)

For me the vienna has an odd distortion on the front of the medal, these can be found in excellent condition quite redily and the dimples in the upper right ~2 oclock? What is that? The ring is very small but otherwise looks ?
The Prague has an odd tone to it and a very silvery solder on the ring.....cleaned? or fake?
The Ring on the berlin looks large to me and I've seen these brass hangers newly made, but the general feel to me is also good of the medal itself?
The budapest medal does not give me a good feeling, but....
The Leningrad medal looks okay but here again despite the look I don't know that that is the orignal hanger or ribbon and the ring looks large too....(as does the budapest).

I am NOT declaring these fakes just that as a true amateur they feel odd (and I am a true amature).
I hope we will get some of those folks who have handled hundreds of them to jump in.

The 'damage' on the Vienna could be just traces of this medal being worn a lot. I have seen more medals with traces of being worn, showing dents and dimples.
The Prague has an odd tone yes, that was also what made me cautious. The silvery solder could be that the ring is resoldered. It did happen that these rings broke off while being worn and thus got re-soldered. I think because these pics are made on a scanner the colour looks so silvery and bright. And that is why I prefer pics made by a camera and not on a scanner. The Budapest medal has the same silvery solder near the ring I notice.
The ring on the Berlin is actually ok in my opinion.

I pulled out my admittedly very very modest current hands on reference library (pictured below). I'm liking the Leningrad and think it to be the same as the far left one and far right one in the group below all the way down to the hanger and ribbon color and fade......

the dimpling on the Vienna tends to be very fine in my experience, and the distortions in the upper right are only part of it and go right up to the rim which seems odd if it was simply wear, but I purposely sought out an extra fine one for my reference so that may be it. Again, others know far more.

Nice collection!! You can see the difference in ring size here as well so that is nothing to worry about.
There are medals that are clear fakes, medals that are clear originals and some that float inbetween. The Prague is one of those for me without being able to tell exactly why.
