    According to my research and the ebay listing, this OG is a Type 2, Variation 1. It was most likely made in 1944 at the Moscow Mint and was most likely issued in 1945.

    How is possible to find info about the soldier with only the numeration of the medal?? I have a friend who is russian and maybe he can help me.

    Thanks! The Soviets kept very detailed records. I've had a number of awards researched by forum member: "Auke"... To the best of my knowledge, the records are kept in numerical order. A researcher accesses the archives and it's as simple as sifting through the records until the documents are found that match the number on the award.

    I'm sure Auke will chime in to elaborate on the process.
