Hi Adrian
I must say I totaly love these myself. From time to time I'am seriously thinking off only collecting these badges. This is a totaly underappreciated medal with a stunning design...

Here's another couple of example of the Order of the Great Patriotic War, 1st Class, the 1985 Jubilee Issue, Nr. 619577. The second one, Nr. 621192, is from a grouping named to a M.G. Lunin, Sergeant, later Junior Lieutenant, and squad leader 897th Mountain Infantry Regiment, 242nd Rifle Division. . .
They are indeed a great looking badge and so very affordable.
Unfortunately, these 1985 "jubilee" OPWs have zero research possibility, even if they have a matching document, unless they come as a part of a larger group (and, then, the research is just "I'm alive in '85!"). Unfortunately some sellers (especially in the well-known online auction sites) do not make a distinction between these 1985 awards and the much more interesting, researchable, and valuable GPW-era OPWs. Some new collectors get tricked. And side by side with a wartime OPW, these "1985s" look really really sad.
