Ok....here's the name from the award booklet received this morning Can you help with the name?
His name was Aleksandr Ivanovich Dyuzhikov. He was awarded his Red Banner on April 20, 1942 by the Volkhov Front, where he served as a pilot in the 41st Fighter Aviation Regiment. He was a Lieutenant at the time. He was decorated for having flown 75 combat missions since June 22, 1941, attacking enemy troops, conducting ground attacks and covering friendly forces on the battlefield. He had three shared victories and was wounded once. He was a bold, resourceful and talented pilot, capable of flying in all weather conditions.
Hi Auke.... thanks very much for responding. He sounds like quite an experienced man. This gives me the background to find out more about this man. I only paid £9 / Euros 10.5 for the booklet. I wonder where his medals are????
Very good award !!!! congrats
Hi David... I only have his award booklet. Sadly no medals. But I think it's a good find
