    Tovarisch Boyesh;

    I am in the process of getting some original items, that I may have re-pops of made, for use in re-enacting. Is anyone aware of a method of adding the red cloisonne to the re-pops to make them look more correct?

    I assure everyone here, I have absolutely no intention of trying to pass any of these off as original, they are strictly for use within my re-enacting unit, rather than risk damage to true originals.

    ...and who makes good re-pops of the branch insignia, or the proper GPW era style cockades?

    Because I have yet to find them.

    I know of a jeweler in Russia, St. Petersburg, who makes top quality rank insignia and branch insignia. They are beautiful items. The rank insignia are even screwback. Now the problem is, I only see him once a year, at best, if he comes over to the UK. I don't have any contact details. However, drop a line to forum member Rob Truscot. He knows him and he might be over in Russia at the moment.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Enamel paint is what you need, you can get solid or transparent colours- easy to apply (although slow to dry) and cheap.
