    Hello guys
Last time I received a couple of research document for a RKKA private who received Order of Red Banner. There is just one problem-translating his award citation. I already some translation job by myself and with help of my family who know some Russian. So far I was able to find out that text says something about "being first to cross Narew river" and "establishing bridgehead".
Could anyone help with translating this text please?

    Thank you in advance

    --------------------------------------------------

During the defense on the Narew river, and subsequent battles for securing on the right bank of the river, comrade Yachnik showed himself to be a courageous and brave warrior.
When it was required to restore the connection between the banks of the river (with the help of soldier-courier) and he was ordered to deliver the report, despite the strong artillery fire, he restored this connection. Also, he was one of the first to cross the Narew river and in the battles to secure this bridgehead he personally destroyed three "Fritz" (german soldiers) from the his machine gun.

    -----------------------------------------

Therefore, he is worthy of the government award "Red Star"

Thank you! It seems like his award was upgraded from Red Star to Red Banner order. Curious why... maybe numer of killed Germans turned out to be higher or maybe for some other deeds...
    Best Regards
