Some of my Soviet awards

The Order of the Red Star is one of my favorite Soviet awards (I'm apparently not the only one who likes them ). Here is a group shot of them together. 9 of them are documented, 10 are part of groups and 26 are researched. The lowest number is 69XXX (to a throttleman in the boiler room of a Black Sea Fleet destroyer, 1942) and the highest is 3732XXX (to a Private in Afghanistan, 1984).

I'm still thinking about a good way to frame these. I've just moved to a new place and the large white wall behind my desk is just begging to be decorated, but these screwbacks are hard to fit in regular display cases.

Hey auke, thats indeed a nice hoard of stars..and i do like them....they would look great wall mounted however they are indeed hard to display....
