    Default Soviet 'Excellent' badges, Question

    Hello everyone,

I have recently bought an excellent Artillery and excellent tankman badge and I was wondering hat I should be looking for in the excellent series of badges to identify those made during WW2 and those made postwar. I have been unable to find any information anywhere else and feel sure the WRF collective will not let me down.

    All the best

    Hi Robin,

The main detail watching from the front badge is located on the upper ornament .

    Hi Dom,

When I saw the wartime/post war photos in your first post I thought I understood the point you were making.
Im probably being dense but I cannot see the difference between the postwar badge in post 1 and some of the badges in your second post. Could you possibly explain further what I am meant to be looking for and also can you explain what you mean by the upper ornament.

    Thank you in advance

    Robin
