Just added this nice example to my collection....

This medal was awarded to Nikolai Pribytkov who joined the Red Army in 1941 at the age of 18 and was in combat in July the following year. By the summer of 1944 he was a Junior Lieutenant and had been awarded the Medal of Valour. On July 1944 he distinguished himself in the crossing of the Vistula River near Lublin serving in the 170th Rifle Regiment, 58th Rifle Division, 3rd Guards Army, 1st Ukrainian Front.
He repelled several German counter-attacks setting an example of “resolve and fearlessness”.

Nice one with original suspension device!
The citation is for the action on 30-31 July 1944, when Jr.Lt. PRIBYTKOV three times went on recon on the bridgehead, which allowed to repel enemy counter attacks in the following day.
Recommended by his regiment commander to order of Lenin. The division commander cut it down to OPWII. The 22 rifle corps commander raised to ORB, which was approved by the army HQ.

The 170 RR begun crossing @22:10 on 30 July 1944 by 2 rifle battalion (the battalion PRIBYTKOV was assigned to).
during 31.07 the forces on the bridgehead repelled 3 counter attacks (losses - 29 WIA and KIA).
Here is the map of the bridgehead.

Well, it is said, that whole leading group of the 2 battalion including the attached sappers and foot scouts were recommended for the HSU title. None of them got HSU though.

On the positive note, I have found mention of Jr.Lt. PRIBYTKOV in the document describing the bridgehead defence.
The document mentions people who distinguished themselves on the bridgehead in repelling numerous enemy counter attacks in the period 30.07-02.08 1944. The list also included this ORB cavalier.
