Wondering what this Medal is?

Article about: I got this medal (attached) this weekend, and has no idea what it is! I'm fairly sure it's Russian... But don't know anything else about it. I'd really like to know if it's a fake or not, an

    I got this medal (attached) this weekend, and has no idea what it is! I'm fairly sure it's Russian... But don't know anything else about it. I'd really like to know if it's a fake or not, and if not what the medal would've been given for, what sort of age is it etc? If anyone has any ideas, that'd be wonderful
