this may sound stupid but the big medal (blue yellow white) looks like a belgium medal awarded to only the best but i can't remember what its called but i shall find out
tom
Defenetly not a Belgian medal.
A closer view would help.

For some reason,I'm thinking that this award with the neck ribbon is a US Veteran's organization piece-such as the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans,Veterans of Foreign Wars, etc. The Case it's in certainly doesn't give the impression of a extremely high merit war badge. It may well be a Commander's award for a veterans organization of some sort-or something similar. So many of the Vet's organization badges were intentionally made to resemble the Legion of Merit etc crosses. It would help if we knew what the writing on it said and what the emblem in the center of it was. William
William, I was thinking this as well because of the ribbon - Though the stripes
are in a different order, it has the same shades/colours as the U.S.
Air Force's 'Distinguished Service Medal'..............
