Received a new US medal today, a Pacific theater version I'd like to add to the forum archives. I was told these were leftovers from a stash in the Pacific left behind by an officer, and are supposed to be pretty mint as a result. I believe they somewhat recently produced re-strikes of this medal using the original molds, but I do not believe this is of that type which typically are very worn looking and enhanced with black stain to bring out what details are left in the very worn down molds.
