France's Day was originally a fundraising event for the French Red Cross during WW1.
Not sure of the date of this medal,but it could have been made for a Committee member for wearing on the day in Australia.

They are not my pictures Didier,i found them on the internet.I Just googled, France's Day-Red Cross--images, trying to find some info on your medal.
Maybe try, Google.com.au. There are a few pictures plus some interesting newspaper articles from the day as well.
