Picked up this group today the ww1 pair are marked to the unit meso rys I think it's Royal yacht squadron ? The volunteer medal is to the same guy but unit is 12,e .b rly off is this a railway Batt Indian defense force ? Thank you for any help

Yes, basically correct. The MESO.RYS is Mesopotamian Railway and Indian Colonial issue,(trains not boats). The "12/E.B. RLY. BN. IDF", a bit of a guess on the "E.B."; 12th East Bengal Railway Battalion, Indian Defence Force.
