British ww2 medals to a Polish recipient ?
I have recently purchased a boxed set of british WW2 medals to i think a Polish recipient (39-45 star, Italy star, war and defence medal ) box adressed to : Mr.W.Quirini, Pol. hostel, Mepal Nr.Ely, Cambs. P/9200. rear of box marked sent by Polish resettlement agency 1949.
I have been googling the name and came up with this chap, Wilhelm Rudolph Quirini, born 1901 Kolomyia, Ukraine, died 1987 Wandsworth, England, is it possible to find anything about his military service ? , I assume records would be held by the MOD and only avaliable to next of kin, any thoughts much appreciated,
kind regards, John.
Looks like i jumped the gun here, just recieved a full refund from the dealer as this group had been previously sold
