I think with this type of broach that it is late war or early post war production?
Good late WW2 era and post War era Bronze Star Medal. These medals were produced in the hundreds of thousands and issued through WW2, Korea, Vietnam and as recent as the 1st Gulf War in 1990.
The boxes and "bandage" cloth wrapping is typical of late WW2. There are also bulk lots of the medals wrapped in the bandage type material.

Nice looking bronze star.
