Quick question please.
Are the ends welded on the suspension rings (where they meet to form the ring)on a replacement ww2 British campaign star like they are on originals. Or do they just butt together?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Rod,
The current replacements are just butted, rather than welded/soldered. The rings are also approx. 15mm in diameter as opposed to approx. 13mm as per the original issues.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Paul.
When I ask this question there was a air crew Europe star on ebay I had on my watch list. Bidding was doing well then the seller posted more pictures and three bidders retracted their bids. It looked like a later strike with the larger ring. I was confused as the only thing i could see unusual was the split on the suspension ring. Everything else ticked all the box’s. Anyway no matter about that one now as it still sold for a couple hundred quid.
Thankyou again
Rod
