What would be the best way of obtaining a Canadain Navy Vets records ? A friend of mine is looking to put together a medal group of his dead grandfathers medals and I hoping to get the correct medals for him . Just hoping someone can help me out .

A member on another forum, a friend of Doug's has someone who can research the records for a fee, as I think you have to go there in person to collect them. I think it is ok to post this information.
"Unfortunately the WWII Canadian Soldier's database is not online, so you need a researcher who will conduct a search at the National Archives in Ottawa.
The best one out there is Arnie Kay, email cef.research@rogers.com
Average research fee is about $35 and you can use Paypal.
That will get you a copy of the complete service file, however without proof of death, some information will be redacted under Canadian Privacy Law.
