    Hi,

This is a lovely WWII medal, what is fascinating about it is that it was issued to a non-US soldier! Chinese Major Liu Shan Hun was awarded this medal on March 1945 for fighting the Japanese on the Burma Road.
After 1949, the holder tried to disguise the medal as a Chinese Star, thus it's current condition. See scans.

Interesting medal and papers. It has, as they say..a nice patina.
