Christmas Gift (Purple Heart, Bronze Star.)
Article about: Yesterday I´ve got a christmas gift from my parents. When I opened it, it was a set of medals from a WW2 veteran. They came from the family of the vet. He was born in 1907 and died in 1983.

Those are excellent medals! My only concern is that I don't believe that those are period official engravings, but rather later engravings done by a jeweler. Regardless, an excellent acquisition

Yes that can be true, perhaps he had done that after the war. It doesn't matter, it's still a nice set :-)

Thanks to everyone!
I have one question which I don't like to ask. What is such a set worth? I think I know the price my parents paid, but I want to know where this set stands these days? I can't find anything on the internet.
Greetings

Re: Christmas Gift (Purple Heart, Bronze Star.)
unfortunately, its a very sensitive question to ask on these forums. some feel that it takes away from the meaning of the hobby. others feel that it hinders people from doing their own research. i am actually not sure what a PH BS group would go for. nice medals by the way.
