Thanks, gentlemen!
I don't mean to give anyone with OCD a nervous tick... I decided to lay out the medals in terms of how high of an honor they are.
Medal of Honor is unobtainable, so I have the Distinguished Service Cross the highest of the four since it is the most prestigious of the group (2nd highest U.S. military award), followed by the Silver Star (3rd), then the Bronze Star (4th), and then finally the Purple Heart (5th).
I suppose I could add a WWII Navy Cross...
If anyone could suggest a better way to organize the medals, I'd love to hear suggestions!
Super medal display Joe ! A WWII Navy Cross would be great
to add to your group - they are a beautiful medal. I haven't
seen one for sale in a while ( I'd love to get hold of one
myself ! ) Last one I did see was around $600, but it
was not the 'Black Widow' type, so may have been
Late WWII or a Korean War era version.
I do have the 'current' type, but I really don't know
if it's authentic or not - made by 'Graco'........
Regards,
Steve.
Great display Joe . To bad about the MOH .Gary
Thanks, Steve and Gary!
This display was fun to put together. It's simple, clean and classy looking, in my honest opinion!
Seems like I'll have to hold out for a Navy Cross... I know where a few are available, but they'd cost me $6-800.
