    Default Engraved Bronze Star Question

I bought this Bronze Star advertised as being WWII vintage. I want to make sure it is a WWII medal and not a surplus used in Viet Nam.
It is engraved Alger L. White Jr.
Here is what I know from research. There is one American soldier that fought in WWII named Alger L. White (no Jr. listed). He was black gentleman from Alabama that enlisted in Jan. of 1944 as a private.
The other candidate is Vietnam soldier that was KIA in South Vietnam on Feb. 7, 1968 by the name Alger White Jr. He served in the 25th Infantry Division and is from Bay City, MI. This brave soldier appears to have been awarded the Purple Heart, but I cannot find that he was awarded a Bronze Star.
I do not see a Korean War soldier with this name.
    Any thoughts??? Please...

    First, thanks for your response.
I am still out to lunch on this one. I was really leaning towards re-used WWII surplus. HOWEVER, in doing my research NEITHER the Vietnam vets memorial page nor the unit history page have him receiving the Bronze Star.
    I still don't know though...

The engraving looks like it is post WW2 IMHO

Thanks for your opinions. They are appreciated.
The consensus seems to be WWII Bronze Star and case.
HOWEVER, the ribbon bar is crimped and from what I've been told that it is post WWII.
I have also been informed that the engraving is post WWII.
So it appears that this is a WWII surplus issued Bronze Star for a Vietnam soldier.
