framed ribbons.

Article about: For only a Pound, you did very well. Shame that whoever made these didn't use just a little more ribbon per piece - wrapping them around strips of cardboard or plastic - They were very fruga

    Default framed ribbons.

    Hello all.

Found this at a car boot sale for £1...

Nicely arranged and actually a good quick reference.
There is very little to be found at sales these days, so it is satisfying to turn up something.

    Cheers,

    Brian.

    Thanks.

Spent a long time digging through boxes, only to find it sitting on a table surrounded by cookery books and baby toys!
Still waiting to find that fallschirmjager lid though!

Now that's a way to lose a pound! (Pardon my horrible pun) Seriously, awesome pick up, especially for that price...I'd love to find a score that cheap over here in the states!

    Thanks for the comments.

I was worried that it was a "one ribbon free every week with medal and badges magazine" (issue one only 99p).
But the nature of the hand written mounting and the dedication on the back, makes me think it's a genuine collection.

It looks good whatever it is.

With the ribbons that are mounted in that frame, you have the high end valor awards of your country...I'd love to get my hands on those ribbons...they look pretty vintage too, just my two cents.

Thanks for the comments. I was getting a bit disollusioned with my collecting. I can't really afford dealer prices and the car boot sales were not revealing much, but this little gem has given me a boost. I'll be back out there next week..
