    George III, silver, 75.5mm, fitted with original riveted suspension loop, edge bruising and light scuffs, otherwise good very fine and rare. As Indian Chiefs of various ranks had accorded their help during the War of 1812-14.

    This medal was recovered from the Detroit River in 1990s.

    Having trawled through The Medal Yearbook and finding no trace of this one i think it probably comes under the heading of a commemorative medallion rather than a medal per se. Try posting it on the British Medal Forum and see if anyone there can provide any information about it. The disc is in good condition considering its been in the river all that time. Makes you wonder whether it was lost or thrown in when the palefaces broke a treaty or two.
