This was an immediate DFM to a B-26 Marauder Air Gunner, Sgt. Donald Taylor with 14 Squadron RAF in North Africa - likely one of the first gallantry awards to RAF B-26 crews in WW II. The squadron ORB's differ slightly from the citation in that it records a daylight attack by 3 luftwaffe twin engine fighter bombers, Ju 88's & Me 110's. Regardless he was very skilled with the single .50 cal Browning M2 in the tail of the early Marauder.
