Hi Susan,
I have never seen any US Military badge like this one. I'm curious to see what some others have to say.
Welcome to the forum, Susan! Unfortunately, I cannot help on this one, but you have come to the right place.
Strange. Looks home-made. Nothing like any US insignia I have
ever seen. Perhaps a piece of costume jewelery that only
resembles some type of military insignia.........
Regards,
Steve.
Hello all. i am new to this site. Thank you for your help.
This belonged to my granduncle. Bill. he was in the US army 1943 onwards. i know very little and hoping to get his records ! ! !. this badge came via his sister many years ago (All have passed away now) he was in France and left the army as a Stg. He would not talk to his family about the war. All his war bits Medals ? including the flag given at his burial went missing when his sister in the States Passed away and i am trying to put together his story. I think they were two cloth patches, a red diamond shape here in the attic that were with this badge.

A 'red diamond' patch is for the US 5th Infantry Division,
They were known as the Red Devils or 'Roten Teufel'
in German.........
Regards,
Steve.
Thank you for that, every bit helps.
Red Devils or 'Roten Teufel' and Irish as well...... Hitler had no chance ...
